Visible Mending Darning Workshop

COMPLETED - next offering TBD

Have you been looking for a way to use visible mending to repair your hand knit garments?

Maybe some of your favorite clothes need a little love (ours always do!) and you want to learn

how to easily darn socks or mend a hole in a sweater?

This workshop will teach you how to use the Katrinkles Darning Loom so you will be mending clothing and accessories in no time.

  • $45 plus a $36 materials fee (which includes the Katrinkles Mending Loom kit)

  • This workshop is open to all - no experience necessary.

  • A hand knit or commercial knit sock to mend, with or without a hole (ideal would be a hand knit sock with a hole to mend)

    A pair of scissors

some fingering weight yarn (a few yards of a color that contrasts the sock). This will be available on site if you do not have any handy.

Instructor
Katy Westcott

After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Katy worked for a goldsmith in NYC before moving back to Rhode Island to design costume jewelry. A workshop in laser cutting led her to making buttons and fiber tools, the intersection of jewelry and fiber arts.

In addition to knitting, spinning, sewing, drawing and crocheting, Katy loves visits to the beach in all seasons, exploring local breweries and taking long walks with her rescue pup.

Katy is proud to provide crafters with high quality buttons and tools for their projects under the brand name Katrinkles. Our goods are made from durable locally-sourced hardwoods like cherry, and are finished by hand, giving each piece unique character. From design to production, all of our products are made in house by our small dedicated team, allowing us to maintain our high standards of quality control and attention to detail at every step.
