Kids’ Weaving 2

Thursdays March 6-27, 4-6 PM

Let’s take weaving one step further together! The kids will be moving up from a frame loom to a  2 shaft rigid heddle loom. They’ll use all of their knowledge from Intro to Weaving to make a finished scarf in Weaving II. We’ll work together to understand dressing the loom, experimenting with pattern and color, designing a scarf that reflects their style, and finishing techniques for their handwoven textile. Class is appropriate for children in 4th to 6th grade.

*Completion of Kids’ Weaving I is a prerequisite of this class, but please contact jaimee22@gmail or the Rhode Island Weaving Center to arrange a crash course if you’re interested.

Dates:

Thursday afternoons (4-6PM); 4 weeks, March 6-27. (If we need one extra class to finish our textile, that class will be April 10th.)

Cost:

$175 (which includes all materials)
